Miguel Ángel Camprubí’s latest collaboration with Spanish car brand SEAT is a joyous campaign that truly breaks away from traditional automotive adverts - and all thanks to Miguel’s signature style and unique humour.
Along with their Milan-based agency C14torce, SEAT was looking to create a film to promote the opening of new dealerships across Italy, and asked 25-years-old artist Miguel Ángel Camprubí to bring to life the spirit of Barcelona - SEAT’s hometown - coming Italy.
As the cars drive through the city, a multi-colour and contagious energy unfolds behind them, in which Miguel’s uber-cute characters take over the streets in an exuberant block party.
“It was a very cool project to work on! I was given a lot of freedom to create my own characters and my own world to represent Barcelona’s unique atmosphere” says Miguel. “I particularly enjoyed was the combination of live-action and drawings, like two different yet coexisting worlds: the real world and the imaginary one.”
Miguel animated a 30-second advert and created three additional illustrations for the campaign, which will be executed across OOH, Print, Digital, Cinema and BTL.
