Silent Spring

We could try and pretend to be completely neutral towards our artists and display an impeccable and almost British composure.

We could keep a low key and steer away from ghost of bad taste that looms over the ones who praise their work.

We could.

But then again we are totally and genuinely in love with BECHA’s work for Ana Ljubinkovic, so why bother? BECHA has created for Ana, who is one of the most promising Serbian fashion designers, an enchanting lookbook as well as upcoming cover of FAAR magazine dedicated to Ana’s new collection. This is not the first time that BECHA collaborates with Ana: “ yes we collaborated before, her Galactic collection appeared in my Untitled Places project. We share a very similar inspiration and approach so it was natural to continue to work together”.

What was the inspiration?
Name of the collection is Silent Spring so we search inspiration in nature. We also wanted to include some religious iconography but only visually so everything would have that surreal, sweet look of paradise.

Does your creative process change when you are working on a fashion subject?
The process is the same but inspiration depends on material. In this case, I was extremely inspired and working was pure pleasure. Fashion illustration is a field where I feel very free. This type of work gives me impression that I don’t work - I simply have fun!
