Giulia Conoscenti is a visual artist whose practice spans drawing, animation, ceramics, and design. After earning a degree in Industrial Design from the Faculty of Architecture in Palermo, she specialised in Visual Arts at the Istituto Superiore per le Industrie Artistiche (ISIA) in Urbino. She now lives between Bologna and Palermo, where she also teaches at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Palermo and Siracusa.

Conoscenti’s work is defined by its rhythmic composition, bold colour, and material sensibility. Blending analogue and digital approaches, her process moves fluidly from pencils, watercolours, and acrylics to digital animation, collage, and even unconventional materials such as coffee or cooking oil. This interplay of media extends into three dimensions through her ceramic work, translating her distinctive imagery into tactile form.

Motion and narrative are central to her practice. Whether still or animated, her works reveal a dynamic iconography in which symbols and textures create continuity and transformation across formats.

Building on this interplay of movement and meaning, her art balances the local and the global: deeply rooted in her Sicilian heritage yet expressed through a contemporary visual language that resonates internationally.

Conoscenti sees art as a physical act of mark‑making as a fundamental gesture within her process, and communication as the guiding principle of her artistic vision — a universal language capable of bridging linguistic and cultural boundaries. Through her teaching and collaborations, she cultivates a spirit of exchange and curiosity, affirming creativity as a space of connection and ongoing discovery.
