On the occasion of the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Machas artist Kaz Shirane took part in Louis Vuitton’s Visionary Journeys exhibition at the Nakanoshima Museum of Art, lending his signature mastery of kaleidoscopic environments to one of the immersive spaces.
Visionary Journeys is a twelve-room immersive experience celebrating Louis Vuitton’s heritage, innovation, and enduring ties with Japan. Working in collaboration with Shohei Shigematsu/OMA, Shirane brought his expertise in light, reflection, and spatial transformation to the ‘Collaboration Room’—a space devoted to the Maison’s landmark partnerships with Takashi Murakami, Yayoi Kusama, Supreme, and Stephen Sprouse. He played a key role in realising the room, producing detailed technical drawings and overseeing the installation’s production.
By infusing the project with his unique perspective and technique, Shirane helped craft a space where visitors are invited not merely to view Louis Vuitton’s story, but to step inside it — becoming, for a moment, part of the vision itself.
