Machas illustrator Jonathan Calugi teamed up with Naturart Village, a new green destination launched by Giorgio Tesi Group in Pistoia, to shape its visual identity through his unmistakable one-line style.
Born and based in Pistoia, Calugi brings to the project not only his distinctive style but also a deep connection to his hometown. His series of spontaneous, flowing illustrations reflects the Village’s ethos—a place where nature, community, and simplicity meet—and continues his ongoing effort to give back to the place and people that shaped him.
His continuous-line figures and stylised plant forms, punctuated with bold colour accents, mirror a sense of openness and creative curiosity—qualities that define both the artist and the project.
The illustrations have been brought to life in a short animation by Stefano Meazza, translating Calugi’s minimal yet expressive work into light-filled motion—embedding joy and local pride into Naturart Village’s visual identity from day one.
At Machas, we celebrate collaborations that are honest, rooted in place, and creatively spirited—this is one of them.
