Machas artists Alberto Casagrande and Ray Oranges were invited by Fondazione Dude to take part in this year’s Dani DUDE Pong initiative—an annual ping pong tournament held in memory of Daniele Dalle Piane, founding member of DUDE agency.

The event, rooted in Dani’s love for ping pong, brings together the Milanese creative community for a day of games, shared meals and music. More than just a tournament, it’s a moment of connection—with all proceeds going to support VIDAS, a non-profit that provides palliative care to children and adults with incurable illnesses.

Here at Machas, we’ve always had a soft spot for ping pong—and even more so when it brings people together through creativity and purpose. This year, four artists were invited to create original artworks that capture the essence of the game, and we were proud to support our very own Ray Oranges and Alberto Casagrande in bringing their distinct take on the game’s energy to life.

Ray’s piece explores the rhythm and structure of the game through interlocking geometric forms and breezy pastel tones, echoing the timing, precision and lightness of a match played outdoors on a summer afternoon. Alberto’s work responds with a vivid burst of movement—charged with energy and emotional immediacy, it celebrates the intensity, spontaneity and shared joy of the game.

The artworks graced a limited series of merchandise, including T-shirts, tote bags and custom ping pong paddles, forming an integral part of an event where creativity, fun and community shaped the spirit of the event from the outset.
