Wood-derived paper was invented in China by T’sai Lun back in 105 AD.

This is not just good trivia that could win you some kudos in any local pub quiz night. It also shed some light on why China has develop the first type of papercutting design and has always been fascinated with everything is paper.

Just recently China’s internationally renowned Sandu Publishing has released “Paper Works”, a snapshot capturing the state of art that has chosen paper as its medium.

From fashion to installations, from illustration to fine arts and exploring even daily commodities, the book features artist from all over the world – Machas’ Ufo5 included. As the editor of the book stated, “We [at Sandu] found Ufo5 work beautiful and it should shared with our readers”.
